An 80-year-old man was killed and an elderly woman was critically injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at 10th Street and State Highway 302.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 72-year-old Odessa woman was traveling west on 10th Street in a Mercedes Benz when she failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and and was struck by a Dodge Ram being driven by a 22-year-old Odessa man.
The driver of the Mercedes was taken to Medical Center Hospital in critical condition and her passenger, Larry Lee Anderson, was pronounced deceased at the hospital, DPS stated.
The other driver and his passenger, a 19-year-old from Liberal, Kansas, were uninjured.
Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
