Motorcyclist killed outside Lamesa

A Washington State motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash 19 miles west of Lamesa Sunday morning.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, an Artesia, New Mexico man was hauling a trailer eastbound on U.S. 180 when the left front tire on his Ford F-350 blew out, causing him to veer into the westbound lanes. He then struck a KTM 1290 motorcycle being ridden by Thomas Clark, 64, of Colbert, Washington.

Clark, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which took place shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Neither the driver of the Ford or his passenger were injured.
