MC celebrates 50 years with free concert

Midland College invites the community to bring your favorite dance partner, grab your boots and join in MC’s 50th Anniversary Celebration as The Texas Trio performs at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center Oct. 8, in a free concert suitable for all ages.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The Texas Trio features Texas swing music performed by country artist Kyle Park, two-time Grammy Award-Winner Jason Roberts and keyboardist John Michael Whitby from George Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band.

“The event is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the Midland community for the past 50 years,” Midland College President Steve Thomas said. “We want to celebrate and share our success of 50 years of providing higher education, community services and cultural enrichment to Midland.”

Come early to purchase items from some of Midland’s best food trucks including Don Tomas Cafe, Gili’s Mobile Diner, Keat’s Sweets and West Texas Chuck Wagon.

Note: Beer and wine will be available for $5 per ticket. Must be over 21 and present legal picture ID. Tickets sold at Door #1 at Chap Center. Limit of two tickets per person. Cash only.
