First Odessa Christian Academy will host its Mane Event starting at 6 p.m. April 13 in the commons area of the school.
The school’s mascot is the lions. Executive Pastor of First Baptist Steve Crone said this is the third Mane Event. They have a fundraiser in the fall called Feed the Need and the Mane Event in the spring.
It’s a catered meal followed by a live auction with an auctioneer and a silent auction.
Crone said they usually have between 200 and 300 in attendance.
“It’s really focused on allowing people to see what we do at the school and … to understand there are needs out there in the community. We want to make ourselves available to every student in the Permian Basin. This event is really driven toward student assistance and helping those who need a little help,” Crone said.
The school is currently kindergarten through ninth and they are adding a grade a year.
