Man charged with criminal trespass following standoff

A spokesperson for the Odessa Police Department detailed to the Odessa American on Wednesday morning about a standoff that took place on the southside of Odessa on Tuesday evening.

The reported standoff happened around 10:07 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of South Jackson Avenue, OPD public relations manager Monica Quintero detailed in a text message.

Officers responded to the listed address in reference to a wanted subject. The man was 41-year-old Jesus Villescas who was wanted a parole violation. The investigation showed Villescas entered a residence without the owner’s permission.

After a short standoff, Villescas was taken into custody. He was charged wtih unlawful restraint, a third-degree felony, and criminal trespass, a class A misdemeanor. No one was injured during the standoff.

Villescas was booked into the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on Wednesday, jail records show. He has two bonds totaling $27,000 and was still in custody as of Wednesday afternoon.
