Joshua Lund from the University of Notre Dame will present The Mestizo State: A Deep Cultural History from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the University of Texas Permian Basin Library room 001, 4901 E. University Blvd.
The lecture discusses the historical formation of the myths of race that animate modern Mexican cultural nationalism with discussion of how that history has resonated in Mexico and abroad.
