ECSO makes drug, burglary arrest

An Odessa woman who was sentenced to eight years in prison in April 2017 for burglary was arrested last week on burglary and drug charges.

According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, on March 14 a deputy spotted a black Jeep associated with a burglary and pulled it over in the 400 block of West 57th Street.

The driver of the Jeep, Josie Booth, 53, was arrested on suspicion of burglary of a habitation and during a subsequent search of the vehicle, the deputy found 22.86 grams of fentanyl pills in a Tylenol bottle and one muscle relaxant pill, the report stated.

Booth was booked into the Ector County jail on the burglary charge and on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a controlled substance.

No details were immediately available in the burglary case.

Booth remained in custody Tuesday night on surety bonds totaling $102,500.

Ector County District Court records show Booth pleaded guilty to entering a home without permission in July 2016 intending to assault another woman.

Texas Department of Public Safety records show Booth was paroled and is scheduled to be on parole until October.
