Earth Day celebration returning to West Texas Food Bank

The West Texas Food Bank announced on Wednesday that it will partner with Keep Midland Beautiful for its annual Earth Day event.

This year the West Texas Food Bank will open the XTO Energy Innovative Gardens and invite the community to come learn about the Earth and how we can better take care of our environment.

The Earth Day event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the West Texas Food Bank Midland Facility located at 1601 Westcliff Drive.

The West Texas Food Bank is inviting the public to visit booths from many organizations including:

  • General Franks Elementary
  • Goddard Jr High Teen Leadership
  • Llano Estacado Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists
  • Midland County Environmental Officers
  • Midland ISD
  • Midland County Library Bookmobile
  • Midland Health Community Garden
  • Midland Treekeepers
  • Permian Basin Master Gardeners
  • Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission
  • Tea 2 Go
  • Texas Commission on Environmental Quality

There will be great giveaways including 100 trees and tomato plants.
