Early voting continues

In the general and Ector County Utility District election, 5,920 early voting and mail-in ballots have been cast in early voting.

The Ector County Elections Office reports that 1,095 absentee votes have been cast. The general election is Nov. 8.

The two contested local elections are for the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 and the seat for Ector County Commissioners Court for Precinct 4.

There are five locations for early voting, which include the Ector County Courthouse Annex Room 104, Kellus Turner Community Building, MCM Elegante Hotel (Hawaiian Ballroom), The Globe Theater at Odessa College and the Salinas Community Building. Early voting will continue until Nov. 4.

The Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 features Republican Bill Bowen and Democrat Gerardo Arzate. Bowen defeated Freddy Redmon and Dudley Graham during the Republican primary in March. Arzate ran unopposed in the Democratic primary in March.

In the commissioner Precinct 4 contest, Democrat Savannah Morales bested incumbent Armando Rodriguez during March’s primary. Morales faces Republican Billy Hall in November’s general election.
