Woman charged with assaulting, threatening roommate

A woman was charged by police after she reportedly threw a pair of scissors at her roommate and threatened to kill him.

Police were called about a disturbance Friday in the 2100 block of E. Ninth St., according to an OPD news release.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the complainant, who told police his roommate, 60-year-old Patricia Ann King, got upset while they were watching television and threw a drink in his face.

King then reportedly went into the kitchen and started to throw knives at the wall, and threw a pair of scissors at the complainant, causing a small scratch on the left side of his chest, the release stated.

The complainant then told police King said she was a trained assassin and was going to kill him, the release detailed.

While attempting to speak with King, officers determined she was intoxicated due to the strong odor of alcohol on her breath, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

King was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.

Jail records show King was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Saturday and has a $30,000 bond.
