A search warrant led to the arrest of two men Friday after they were found in possession of a stolen vehicle and methamphetamine.

Police found a gray 2018 Toyota Tundra parked on a residential driveway in the 2600 block of Newell Road, an OPD press release said, and a computer check revealed that the listed vehicle had been reported stolen.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, officers made contact with 25-year-old Nicholas Howell and 31-year-old Joe Ellenburg, the release stated. Howell was found to be in possession of a black Toyota Tundra key belonging to the stolen vehicle and Ellenburg was found to be in possession of a bag of methamphetamine and a pipe.

Howell was charged with theft of property and Ellenburg was charged with possession of methamphetamine, both state jail felonies.

Jail records show Howell and Ellenburg were taken to the Ector County Detention Center Friday. No bonds were set as of Friday afternoon.
