Police are looking for a suspect who reportedly robbed two teenage girls at gunpoint with an AR-15 rifle.

The Odessa Police Department was called about a robbery around 10:28 p.m. Saturday at Genghis Grill, 4101 E. 42nd St., an OPD news release said.

Officers made contact with the two 17-year-old victims, who told police they had been talking in the parking lot when a white sedan pulled up next to them. The driver then got out with what appeared to be an AR-15 rifle pointed at them and demanded all of their money, the release stated.

The release detailed the suspect fled the scene with the victims’ cash and checks and was last seen traveling northbound on Tanglewood Lane.

OPD described the suspect as an approximately 20-year-old white man, about 5 feet and 9 inches in height and 150 pounds, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The car he was driving was believed to be an older model white sedan with dealer tags.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the investigation to call OPD at 432-333-3641 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS and reference case number 18-08593.
