An off-duty police officer charged a woman Monday after she reportedly left her two children unattended in an Albertsons parking lot.
The officer first noticed around 5:21 p.m. Monday a black Dodge Challenger parked in the fire lane with the engine running at Albertsons, 2751 N. County Road West, an Odessa Police Department press release said.
Inside the vehicle were two girls, ages 2 and 5, the release detailed, unsupervised.
The report said the woman charged, Norma Michelle Minjarez, left the vehicle unattended for around seven minutes.
Minjarez was charged with endangering a child, a state jail felony.
Jail records show Minjarez was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Tuesday and has a $15,000 bond.
