15-year-old charged in stabbing at Permian

A 15-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, following a stabbing at Permian High School today.

The victim, who is 15, and the suspect, also 15, confronted each other on the west side of Permian High School after school, Public Information Officer Mike Adkins said.

The suspect pulled his right hand from his jacket and stabbed the victim twice in the left arm and once on the left upper portion of the back.

Adkins said in a text message that the suspect was taken to the Ector County Youth Center.

Adkins said the victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
