Cookies and Canvas brings family fun to the City of Odessa parks

The City of Odessa Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its inaugural Cookies and Canvas night for those who want to learn how to paint, a press release detailed.

Cookies and Canvas will be an instructor-led class that will teach guests how to paint a dog with a heart just in time for Valentine’s Day. Cookies and refreshments will also be provided for guests as well.

This event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at Sherwood Park, located at 4819 N Everglade Ave. The cost is $40, which covers the cost of supplies, cookies, and refreshments. Class is available for ages eight and above.

Cookies and Canvas are the first of many great programs coming to Odessa as the City of Odessa Parks and Recreation is gearing up for the spring season with new and exciting events lined up. This year the department is excited to offer new events such as the BBQ Masters and Cornhole Bracket Battle coming up on March 18, the Shamrock 5K that will be on March 11, plus many more.

There will also be returning favorites such as Take Me Fishing at Comanche Trail Fishing Pond and the Mother and Son and Father and Daughter dances from last year.
