A suspected car thief is in custody after crashing the vehicle at Pine Avenue and Lindberg Street Monday afternoon.
According to the Odessa Police Department, officers tried to pull over a stolen vehicle at gunpoint off Beal Street around noon. The driver fled with officers in pursuit, but the car eventually crashed.
No one was injured and the suspect, whose name has not been released, was booked into the Ector County jail on suspicion of robbery and felony evading in a vehicle.
