Boil water notice for greater Gardendale area

UPDATE 11:20 a.m. 4/6/18: The boil water notice is lifted and the water is good, according to a news release from Greater Gardendale WSC.


UPDATE 8:30 a.m. 4/5/18: The water on the east side of FM 1788 is now back on. The boil water notice is still in effect until test results from samples are back in about 24 hours, according to a news release from Greater Gardendale WSC. Boil any water for 2 minutes before you consume it.


A boil water notice has been put into effect by Greater Gardendale Water Supply Corp., only for customers east of FM 1788, due to a leak.

Greater Gardendale WSC stated in a news release Wednesday that should customers choose to use the water, to boil it vigorously for two minutes before consumption.

The release stated customers will be advised as soon as the leak is fixed, and advised again when the water is safe for consumption as soon as the water samples come back from the lab, which will take 24 hours after the sample is collected.
