3 died in two-vehicle collision

A Texas Department of Public Safety press release detailed three people died, including a 32-year-old man from Midland, in a two-vehicle collision east of Midland.

The reported fatal collision happened at 10 p.m. Monday on Farm-to-Market Road 307 and County Road 1083 about five miles east of Midland.

Noah Salcido, 47, of El Paso was driving a 2018 Mercedes Benz 300 with passengers 40-year-old Roberto Vasquez of Deming, N.M., and Rafael Eriza Garza, 32, of Midland, the press release stated.

Kari Leigh Morris, 36, of Midland was driving a 2021 Dodge Ram 2500.

DPS detailed the preliminary information showed the Mercedes was traveling north on County Road 1083, while the Ram was traveling east on Farm-to-Market Road 307. The Mercedes disregarded the stop sign and pulled into the eastbound lanes resulting in the Ram collided with the left side of the Mercedes.

Salcido, Vasquez and Garza were all pronounced dead at the scene by investigator Gilberto Villarreal, the press release detailed. Morris was treated and released from Midland Memorial Hospital.

The press release also detailed that Salcido and Garza weren’t wearing seatbelts.
