GOOD NEWS: OPD promotes new officers

The Odessa Police Department recently promoted 11 new officers.

They are:

  • Tyler Rodgers has served with the OPD for 8 years and 1 month and was previously assigned to the Narcotics Unit. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Intelligence Unit.
  • Vijitta Y has served with the OPD for 8 years and 4 months, and was previously assigned as a Narcotics Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division. She was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Patrol Unit, Shift A.
  • Justin Caid has served with the OPD for 10 years and 1 month. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Special Operations Bureau, Property Unit.
  • Sam Chavez has served for 8 years and 1 month. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Patrol Unit, Shift D.
  • Sergio Spencer has served with the OPD for 11 years and 8 months, and was previously assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Patrol Unit, Shift C.
  • Ian Kapets has served with the OPD for 6 years and 6 month, and was previously assigned to the Intelligence Division. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Chief’s Office.
  • John Langs has served with the OPD for 7 years, and was previously assigned as a Narcotics Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Patrol Unit, Shift B.
  • Brad Davis has served with the OPD for 17 years and 2 months. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to the Patrol Unit, Shift D.
  • Ryan Thompson has served with the OPD for 14 years and 8 months, and was previously assigned as Sergeant to the Criminal Investigations Division, Property Unit. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to the Patrol Unit, Shift B.
  • Randy Vest has served with the OPD for 13 years and 11 months. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to the Patrol Unit, Shift C.
  • John Sikes has served with the OPD for 14 years and 3 months. He was promoted to the rank of Captain and assigned to the Special Operations Bureau.
