Leadership Odessa gets insight into the Odessa Police Department.
Leadership Odessa is a program of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce. Each class is comprised of 40 plus participants from a variety of sectors, including education, medical, small business, banking, industry, hospitality, and nonprofit. If you are new to Odessa, its the quickest way to get plugged into the community.
On Oct. 20, that special group got to learn more about OPD as part of “Government and Public Safety Day.” They heard from Chief Michael Gerke, Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis, and State Rep. Brooks Landgraf.
They also got to see firsthand demonstrations from OPD’s K-9 Unit and SWAT team.
Odessa Fire Rescue also recently demonstrated and displayed their tools and tactics for Leadership Odessa.
