Solar eclipse viewing party, Friends Book sale set

This Saturday, you can catch the long awaited Friends of the Library book sale in the basement of the library from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Noel Heritage Park Plaza.

Fill a bag of goodies of all you can read and all you can listen to for just $5. Cash only please. Then attend the library’s Solar Eclipse viewing event, where you’ll be treated to free viewing sunglasses, a telescope demo, science table, temporary tattoos with moon pies and storytime for the kids.

They will also feature a special guest award-winning teacher and solar ambassador Kenric Davies and Midland College chemistry professor Dr. Pat Kesavan. The annular “ring of fire” is expected to peak in our area at 11:45 a.m. at 90% obscurity.
