A 17-year-old Odessan was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault Monday after she confessed to stabbing another woman in the back.
According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies were dispatched to West Riggs Road about a disturbance shortly before midnight Sunday night.
Deputies learned a 23-year-old woman had been stabbed three times on the left side of her back and they began collecting statements from those on the scene, the report stated.
According to the report, Jessica Allred stated “I stabbed her” without prompting. She then explained, after being read her Miranda rights, that two women were fighting and when she went to pull one woman off the other her hair got pulled.
“She blacked out and stabbed (the hair puller) in the back with a small brown handle pocketknife,” the report stated. “When asked where the pocketknife was, Jessica stated she went inside the residence and flushed it down the toilet.”
Allred was booked into the Ector County jail on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence. She remained in custody Wednesday on surety bonds totaling $60,000.
