Angel Torres and Tresten Kennard helped the Odessa College baseball team open its weekend series with a conference-doubleheader sweep against New Mexico Military Institute 8-7 and 12-3 on Friday at American Legion Park.
The Wranglers (24-3 overall, 9-1 WJCAC) supplied a total of 24 hits, which included 11 for extra bases. Torres finished the doubleheader with four hits, one home run and three RBIs, while Kennard added three hits, two home runs, three RBIs.
Connor Queen gave up three runs on five hits and struck out eight over seven innings during the second game. Matthew Brodt picked up the win during his three innings of relief in the opener.
