Cynthia Gutierrez, Abel Espinoza

Jan. 8 Odessa police arrested 25-year-old Cynthia Gutierrez and charged her with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a state jail felony; and on four outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Police also arrested 25-year-old Abel Espinoza and charged him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a state jail felony; and on three outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Officers pulled over a tan 2002 Lexus SUV, driven by Gutierrez, at 9 p.m. Jan. 8 in the area of Barrett Avenue and Lamesa Street. The front passenger was identified as Espinoza. Investigation revealed Gutierrez had four outstanding misdemeanor warrants and Espinoza had three outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Officers searched the vehicle and found a marijuana grinder and two bags of methamphetamine. Gutierrez, 913 N. Kelly Ave., was released Jan. 11 from the Ector County Detention Center on $7,500 bond. Espinoza, 220 Schell St., was being held Jan. 11 at the Ector County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
