UTPB’s Miles Daniels was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after his performance in the Falcons’ contests against UT Tyler and Texas A&M-Commerce last week.
The senior from Gulfport, Miss. continued his hot shooting last week with his two highest-scoring games of the season.
Daniels averaged 30 points per game on .643 percent shooting against two regionally ranked teams.
Daniels scored a career-high 31 points and had five rebounds in UTPB’s 89-71 win over UT Tyler Thursday at home.
In Saturday’s game against Texas A&M-Commerce, he went 6-for-10 in both games from 3-point range and became the second player in the program’s history to reach 100 made 3-pointers in a season.
Daniels is currently sixth in the LSC in scoring.
UTPB (16-12 overall, 8-8 conference) will face Angelo State (19-8, 9-6) in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Championships at 7 p.m. Tuesday in San Angelo.
