TEXAS LEAGUE BASEBALL: RockHounds’ comeback falls short

FRISCO The Frisco RoughRiders built a big lead with three home runs Tuesday, then held on to beat the Midland RockHounds 7-6 in Texas League action at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
The RoughRiders took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Michael De Leon’s two-out single. In the third, Juremi Profar led off with a homer and Josh Altmann added a two-run blast. Alex Kowalczyk hit a two-run homer in the seventh to make it 7-0.
Midland got on the board in the eighth, getting a two-run double from Luke Persico, a run-scoring groundout from Nate Mondou and an RBI single from Jonah Heim.
Persico and Heim, each singled in a run in the ninth and the RockHounds had the tying run at third base before Walker Weickel got Greg Deichmann to fly out to end it.
