Motorcyclist hurt during collision with pickup

A woman suffered injuries Saturday during a collision with a full-size pickup truck and her motorcycle at 57th Street and Highway 385.
The woman whose name was not disclosed was taken by ambulance to Medical Center Hospital for treatment following the collision that was reported at about 4:45 p.m. The extent of her injuries was not immediately known, but Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Rachael Cummings said she was heading to the hospital to find out.
The driver of the double-cab Chevrolet Silverado pickup, identified by Cummings as 31-year-old Jesus Morales, of Odessa, was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way, the DPS Trooper said. The female motorcyclist was heading south on Highway 385 when she tried turning east onto 57th Street, Cummings said.
It was at that moment when the moving Chevrolet Silverado collided with the motorcycle, Cummings said. Southbound traffic on Highway 385 was temporarily diverted to West 57th Street on the southbound as DPS Troopers were investigating the scene.
