Odessa College’s Delshon Strickland was named WJCAC player of the week for Jan. 15-21 the conference announced Tuesday.
Strickland scored 15 points in the Wranglers’ 75-73 victory against Western Texas College. The sophomore guard from Minneapolis was 5 of 8 from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, and converted both of his free throw attempts.
The Wranglers moved up two spots in the NJCAA poll Tuesday from No. 19 to No. 17 after the victory.
The Odessa College women’s team remained No. 1 in the nation for the second straight week after victories against Western Texas and Howard College.
