MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Falcons drop to Midwestern State

WICHITA FALLS Midwestern State closed out the game on a 6-0 run to solidify a 73-65 victory over the UTPB Falcons men’s basketball team Thursday night at the D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

Kyree Elder led the Falcons with 20 points and seven rebounds while Xavier Ledet finished with 15 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three assists.

Jacob Ledoux added 11 points and three steals and Maurice Walton tallied 13 points and grabbed five boards.

UTPB had 34 points in the paint while shooting 34.3 percent from the field and 7-of-26 from beyond the arc.

Midwestern State’s JaJuan Starks scored 19 points while tallying 11 rebounds. Gilbert Thomas added another double-double finishing with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

UTPB continues Lone Star Conference action on the road at Cameron University at 4 p.m. Saturday.
