UTPB was ranked No. 17 nationally in the final NABC Division II men’s basketball poll released Tuesday.
The Falcons have won seven straight games, capturing the Lone Star Conference’s regular-season title in the process before taking the conference tournament championship Sunday in Allen. UTPB has won 16 of its last 17 games.
The Falcons (26-5) will be the No. 2 seed at the South Central regional this weekend, taking place in Golden, Colo., as part of the NCAA Division II national championship tournament.
UTPB will open the regional tournament against seventh-seeded Texas A&M-Kingsville (18-11) Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Regional host Colorado School of Mines (27-4) is ranked No. 11 in the final NABC poll.
