One person has reportedly died after his vehicle crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler on Interstate 20 Friday morning.
Cpl. Steve LeSueur with the Odessa Police Department said one person was transported from the wreck that left a smashed vehicle on the side of the highway, but that man later died.
LeSueur said the man was driving a 2013 Ford Edge and collided with the back of an 18-wheeler, causing him to lose control. LeSueur said officers are still investigating what caused the wreck initially, but said it could have been a blowout.
Authorities blocked off eastbound lanes on I-20 west of JBS Parkway and were expected to keep the highway closed off until at least 12:15 p.m.
