ECTOR COUNTY FELONY DISPOSITIONS Jan. 21, 2016

The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed.

ASSAULT

  • Damian Hernandez, 25, had a charge of aggravated assault of a date or family or household member with a weapon dismissed Jan. 13 because the state was unable to locate and serve the victim. Judge James Rush presided. Tony Chavez was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.
  • Wesley Michael Nance, 43, pleaded guilty Jan. 13 to assault by impeding breath or circulation (family violence) and was sentenced to four years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Justin Low was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.
  • Jacob Dwayne Wade, 39, pleaded guilty Jan. 17 to two counts of assault (family violence) with a previous conviction and was sentenced to five years in prison. Judge John Smith approved the deal. Michael McLeaish was the defense attorney and Brooke Hendricks was the prosecutor.

BURGLARY

  • Brantten Curtis Rhodes, 27, pleaded guilty Jan. 13 to two counts of burglary of a habitation and was sentenced to four years in prison. Whalen approved the deal. McLeaish was the defense attorney and Hendricks was the prosecutor.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

  • Alfredo Valentin Vargas Jr., 25, was convicted guilty by a jury Jan. 13 for driving while intoxicated, third or more, and was sentenced to 10 days in county jail and four years probation. Rush presided. Chavez was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.

EVADING ARREST

  • Pablo Enriquez Nunez, 36, pleaded guilty Jan. 13 to evading arrest with a vehicle and was sentenced to three years in prison. Whalen approved the deal. Don Fletcher was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.

FAILURE TO APPEAR

  • David Ramos Leon, 38, had a charge of bail jumping and failure to appear dismissed Jan. 13 because he pleaded guilty in another case. Judge Stacy Trotter presided. The defense attorney and the prosecuting attorney were not listed.

FORGERY

  • Chelsea Renee McLain, 26, pleaded guilty Jan. 13 to forgery of a financial instrument and was sentenced to three years probation and deferred adjudication. Whalen approved the deal. Kevin Acker was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

  • Maurice Lee Davis, 27, pleaded guilty Jan. 13 to two counts of possession of a controlled substance, four grams or more but less than 200 grams, and was sentenced to seven years probation and deferred adjudication.   • Taylor Glenn Grissom, 19, pleaded guilty Jan. 13 to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to two years probation and deferred adjudication.
