Council to consider purchase of refuse trucks

The Odessa City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the City Council Chambers, 411 W. Eighth St., in the council chambers, to consider, among other things, the purchase of new trash trucks.

On the consent agenda:

>> Consider approval of the request by Wyly & Fredna Brown Family Partnership LTD & All Nations Bridge of Hope Inc., owners, LCA, agent, for various original zoning and rezoning requests to Retail (R) and Retail-One (R-1) (31.63 acres total) located in Section 4, Block 41, T-2-S, T&P RR. Co. Survey, City of Odessa, Ector County, Texas (southeast intersection of P Bar Ranch Rd. and N. Faudree Rd.) (Ordinance – Second and Final Approval).

>> Consider having one City Council meeting for the month of December 2021. (Resolution)

>> Consider purchase of two automated side load refuse trucks for $762,914.

>> Consider purchase of three side load refuse trucks for Solid Waste for $836,019.

In other council action:

>> 1. Open a public hearing to consider approval of the request by Roger Gearhart, lessee, Torentino’s Inc., owner, for a specific use permit to allow a dance hall in a Retail (R) zoning district on Lot 43 Unit 3A & 2.68% interest in common area, Block 13, Wedgewood (1541 John Ben Sheppard Parkway, Ste. 18) (Ordinance – First Approval).

>> Consider changes to modify Sec. 12-2-5 (One-Way Streets and Alleys) of the City Code of Ordinances. (First Approval).

>> Consider approval of a professional services agreement with Newton Engineering, PC for the design of 31st Street and Tanglewood Lane roadway reconstructions.

>> Consider approval of a professional services agreement with Landgraf, Crutcher and Associates, Inc. (LCA) for the design of Crane Avenue reconstruction.
