PORTALES, N.M. The UTPB softball team ended up getting swept against Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds Saturday on the road, falling by scores of 4-3 and 7-0.
The doubleheader capped off a three-game series in Lone Star Conference play as the Greyhounds (10-7 overall, 6-3 in conference) were also victorious on Friday, winning 5-4.
In the first game on Saturday, the Falcons (3-16, 0-6) saw their 2-1 lead disappear when Eastern New Mexico scored runs in the third and fourth innings.
The Falcons tied it up in the fifth but the Greyhounds scored a walk-off run in the bottom of the seventh to pull through.
Eastern New Mexico had little trouble in game two, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second and adding a run in the fourth before scoring two runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
