COLLEGE BASEBALL: Wranglers trio earn all-region honors

A trio of Odessa College baseball players were named to the All-Region V baseball team Thursday. The team was selected by coaches from the Western Junior College Athletic Conference and the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.

Freshman pitcher Noah Brown, freshman infielder Ivan Melendez and redshirt sophomore outfielder Kyler Castillo all earned spots on the team.

Brown appeared in 19 games for the Wranglers and finished the season with a 1.24 ERA, 61 strikeouts and eight saves. Melendez led the team in home runs (17) and RBIs (70) while Castillo had a team-best .460 batting average for Odessa College.

This is the second postseason honor the trio has earned after all being named to the WJCAC All-Conference team earlier this month.
