COLLEGE BASEBALL: UTPB drops Lone Star Conference opener

 

SAN ANGELO Angelo State took control early to beat UTPB 16-5 Friday in the Lone Star Conference baseball opener for both teams at Foster Field.

The Rams (20-5 overall) scored six runs in the second inning and added nine more in their final three at bats.

Skyler Palermo homered and drove in two runs to lead the Falcons (9-13). Michael Urquidi and Josh Elvir homered for Angelo State.
