WOMEN’S COLLEGE SOCCER: UTPB ends season with 2-2 draw

The UTPB women’s soccer team’s season came to an end with a 2-2 draw against Oklahoma Christian Friday at Falcon Field.

The Falcons finished the season with a 4-7-6 overall record and 2-5-5 in Lone Star Conference.

UTPB took a 1-0 lead after Kristel Chaves’ goal at the 30:37 mark in the first half.

Madi Grace Carriello doubled the Falcons’ lead with her second half goal.

However, Oklahoma Christian (6-5-6, 2-5-5) used two second half goals by Brooklyn Fink to come back and force UTPB to settle for a tie.

Fink scored her first goal in the 52nd minute before adding her equalizer in the 66th minute.

UTPB finished with five shots total, four of which were on target.

Oklahoma Christian had 25 shots, 11 on target.

The Falcons were unable to clinch a spot in the Lone Star Conference tournament.
