WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UTPB’s Boothe, Quaadman earn Lone Star Conference honors

UTPB women’s head basketball coach Rae Boothe and forward Alexus Quaadman both earned Lone Star All-Conference awards at a ceremony Wednesday in Frisco.

Boothe was named the Co-Coach of the Year along with Texas Woman’s University head coach Beth Jillson.

Quaadman was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 10.5 rebounds and recording 36 blocked shots.

Boothe has coached the Falcons to their first Lone Star Conference tournament appearance as well as their all-time best season at 22-6 overall, 17-5 in conference.

Texas Woman’s Ashley Ingram was named the Player of the Year while St. Mary’s Taylor Haggan was named the Freshman of the Year and Midwestern State’s Zarria Carter earned Newcomer of the Year honors.

The Falcons will face Angelo State in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference tournament at noon Friday at the Comerica Center in Frisco.
