GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. The UTPB women’s basketball team began the season on the right note, defeating South Dakota Mines 60-55 Friday at Brownson Arena.
The Falcons (1-0) led 12-11 after the first quarter before trailing 32-25 at the half.
UTPB outscored South Dakota Mines 22-9 in the fourth quarter to clinch its first win of the season.
The Falcons will be back on the court for a 7:30 p.m. game against Colorado Mesa.
