The UTPB women’s basketball team was well-represented in this week’s Lone Star Conference Players of the Week.
Andreea Mancha and Avalon Munoz were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Mancha posted a strong week in leading UTPB in a pair of wins.
She opened the weekend scoring 15 points in the 95-52 win over King (Tenn.) on Friday.
Then, she scored 26 points in the 72-65 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday.
Munoz had a solid effort on defense as the Falcons held King and Southwestern Oklahoma State to a combined 34.4 percent field goal shooting and out-rebounding the teams by 22, including a 58-27 advantage under the opponent’s basket.
UTPB is now 3-1 for the season and will face Sul Ross State at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Falcon Dome.
