The UTPB women’s basketball team returned to the floor with a 70-66 win over Sul Ross State in a nonconference game Wednesday at Falcon Dome.
The win put the Falcons at 4-8 for the season. UTPB has now won three straight.
Alexus Wykoff had 18 points total to lead the Falcons, going 8-9 on field goals and 2-2 on free throws. Avalon Munoz had 11 points for UTPB, going 5-13 from the floor and 1-2 on free throws.
Vania Hampton led the Lobos with 21 points, going 8-12 on field goals and 4-4 from the line and a 3-pointer.
Sul Ross State is now 6-7 for the season.
UTPB will next face St. Mary’s to begin Lone Star Conference play at 2 p.m. Friday in San Antonio.
