WOMEN’S COLLEGE SOCCER: UTPB reinstates Tejas after investigation

UTPB women’s soccer coach Carla Tejas will resume her role immediately, the school said in a release Friday.

Tejas, hired last year to take over the Falcons’ women’s program, was placed on administrative leave in October after allegations against her from a group of anonymous students prompted an investigation by the university.

The investigation, conducted by the UTPB Compliance Office, included interviews with current and previous players, parents, the coaching staff and the school’s compliance staff.

It found that all allegations against Tejas, except one, were unsubstantiated.

Tejas did admit to coaching a game after being suspended due to a red card in the previous contest, for which the school said she will be disciplined.
