MIDLAND The Tulsa Drillers scored nine runs in the first two innings and never looked back, defeating the Midland RockHounds 12-7 in Texas League play Sunday at Security Bank Ballpark.
Kyle Garlick was 3 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs to pace Tulsa (3-1). DJ Peters added a pair of solo home runs and Angelo Mora added a three-run home run and four RBIs to the victory.
Eli White was 3 for 5 with a home run for the RockHounds (3-1), with Sean Murphy and Mikey White also adding home runs to the mix.
The teams continue the series at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
