TEXAS LEAGUE BASEBALL Drillers drop RockHounds

TULSA, Okla. J.D. Martin pitched seven shutout innings and Chris Parmelee had two hits and two RBIs Thursday as the Tulsa Drillers beat the Midland RockHounds 6-1 in Texas League action at ONEOK Field.

Martin (1-2) blanked the RockHounds on two hits, striking out seven, to hand Midland its third consecutive loss to start the road trip.

Meanwhile, the Drillers jumped on Midland starter James Naile (3-2) for six runs on seven hits over four innings. Tulsa scored four in the first on as Parmelee, who went 2 for 4, doubled in two runs. The Drillers added two runs in the third.

Tulsa’s Cody Thomas was 2 for 4 and Josh Thole was 2 for 3 with a double.

Midland’s run came in the ninth when Greg Deichmann walked and scored on Anthony Miller’s single.
