PECOS One of the most historic rodeos in the country is making its return, giving competitors from various parts of the world a chance to move up the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rankings.
The West of the Pecos Rodeo will host its first performance at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Buck Jackson Arena.
The competition has been around since 1883 and is one of the PRCA’s top 40 prize-money rodeos, which attracts attention from far and wide.
After having to cancel its showing in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the rodeo returned in 2021 to a full arena for its opening night.
The rodeo has four performances scheduled, hosting its final 2022 showing at 8 p.m. Saturday.
