NORTH AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE: Jackalopes back home for Shriner’s Weekend

The Odessa Jackalopes return home for the first time since Feb. 5 when they host the Amarillo Wranglers at 7:15 p.m. Friday at the Ector County Coliseum.

It is the first of two games against the Wranglers during the Jackalopes’ annual Shriner’s Weekend. There will be a jersey auction following Saturday’s game with the proceeds going to help the Shriner’s Hospitals.

Odessa (24-19-1-4) currently is tied with Shreveport (24-18-1-4) for fourth place in the North American League’s South Division, three points behind third-place Wichita Falls.

The top four teams in each division advance to the postseason.

This series begins the final homestand of the season for the Jackalopes, who will face Wichita Falls (March 18-19), division-leading New Mexico (March 25-26) and Shreveport (April 1-2) before finishing on the road in Amarillo and Albequerque, N.M.
