HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Permian to face El Paso Coronado on the road

The Permian volleyball team will face District 1-6A co-champion Coronado in the bidistrict round at 6 p.m. Oct. 31 at Coronado High School.

The Lady Panthers (24-13 overall, 4-6 in District 2-6A) finished fourth in the district standings after this past Tuesday’s regular season finale.

Permian defeated Odessa High in four sets Tuesday at OHS Fieldhouse to officially clinch fourth place. They were aided by a San Angelo Central sweep over Midland High which ensured the Lady Dawgs a fifth place finish.

It is the third straight year that Permian has clinched a spot in the state playoffs.

Coronado enters the game at 31-9, 14-2, having shared the district title with El Paso Franklin.
