HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Permian falls to El Paso Coronado in the bidistrict round

EL PASO The Permian volleyball team’s season came to an end with a loss in straight sets to El Paso Coronado in the bidistrict round of the playoffs Tuesday at Coronado High School.

The Lady Panthers lost by scores of 25-8, 25-21, 25-18 to finish the season with a 24-14 overall record.

Coronado was one of three schools from District 1-6A to advance to the area round.

1-6A went 3-1 against teams from District 2-6A in the bidistrict round on Tuesday which included El Paso Eastwood sweeping 2-6A champion Wolfforth Frenship while El Paso Eastlake knocked out Midland Legacy in four sets in Midland.

San Angelo Central was the only team from District 2-6A to advance to area, defeating District 1-6A co-champion El Paso Franklin in five sets on Tuesday.
