GEORGETOWN Permian senior Jaden Chavez shot an opening round 77 at the UIL Class 6A State Golf Tournament Monday at Legacy Hills Golf Club.
Chavez sits tied for 33rd with four other golfers.
Austin Westlake’s Jacob Sosa, Belton’s Dallas Hankamer and Houston Stratford’s Drew Murdock are all tied for the individual title after carding 3-under-par 69 to open the tournament.
Westlake’s first team leads with a 1-over-par total of 289 followed by Austin Vandegrift (296) and Austin Westlake II (299)
The final round begins at 8 a.m.
