WINK The Van Horn 7-on-7 football team sent its skill players east on Interstate 20 to a tournament at Wink High School and it proved to be the right decision as the Eagles qualified for the state tournament to be held June 27-28 in College Station.
In pool play action, Van Horn defeated Coahoma (26-20) and Eldorado (33-20) and lost to Alpine (33-24).
The Eagles got a rematch with the Fightin’ Bucks in the championship game and Van Horn pulled away for a 27-13 victory to earn the berth.
